The club and golf course:
Borgarnes golf club was founded on the 21 of January 1973.
Initially, the golf club acquired a small price of land from Town Council about 4 km from the Borgarnes village where the club members built three holes for practice and play golf.
In 1976 the construction of front 9 holes was completed. In 1987 the construction of the back 9 holes started and in 1998 a total re-design of the course took place. The full 18 hole design and construction was completed in April 2007.

The Borgarnes village is on the other side of the Hvalfjordur bay from Reykjavík and the travel
takes you through the Hvalfjordur tunnel to Borgarnes.
The driving distance from Keflavik airport is about 115 km. When driving in to the village of Borgarnes
you take the first turn to the right and from there on,signs will lead your way for around 4 kilometers to the north.
